Things to Consider
- This page is a summary of coverage and may not include all plan details. Please review the full benefit booklet before purchasing a plan.
- Contact us anytime for complete coverage information, or download the full booklet from our website.
- All calendar-year and lifetime maximums apply per person, unless otherwise stated.
- Anyone between the ages of 18 and 79 can apply for a VIKINGCARES Personal Health Plan. Coverage is available for individuals, couples, and families.
- You must be a resident of Canada and covered under your provincial health plan to apply. If you are applying for family coverage, your spouse and dependent children must also have provincial healthcare coverage.
- Health coverage does not age out. Once you join before your 80th birthday and maintain continuous coverage, your extended health benefits remain in force for life.
- Emergency Travel Coverage is available for members up to age 79. Travel coverage ends at age 80. Clients do not have to be in their home province for their travel insurance to come into effect. If a client leaves their home province before their Orion travel coverage becomes effective, they must maintain continuous coverage from their departure date until the Orion policy takes effect. Orion will then calculate the coverage dates based on the client’s actual departure date.
- Life Insurance Coverage (where included) continues until age 85, at which point it terminates.
- Extended health coverage for a dependent who is hospitalized at the time their coverage should begin (except newborns) will start the day after they are discharged.
